An Away Day this week; we head briefly along the Dee Cycleway before entering North Wales and into Kinnerton, Marford and then Gresford. Back into England at Farndon we head to Tattenhall for coffee at Old Ma’s. Then it’s around Beeston Castle, up towards Kelsall and back to Chester via Waverton and Saighton.  It’s 59 miles with a total of 2150ft of climb.

Full joining details for this ride will be posted on the WBCC Members Facebook page closer to the date.

You can view details of the route here: Chester Away Day

The Active ride is paced between 14-16mph. We typically ride at around 15mph average and we would like to ask riders to be respectful of this for your own safety and the safety of the group. Suitable for road bikes only.

Away days are generally for members only, please contact the club if you are new and interested in attending. Please check for an update on the details for this ride when confirmed.

Bikes MUST be in good working order and you MUST have a helmet. You need to carry a spare inner tube and/or puncture repair kit and when necessary you should also have lights. You should also bring enough to drink (minimum one full bottle) and snacks/gels etc appropriate for the length of the ride.

General Rules:

Please keep pavements clear at meeting points, be respectful of pedestrians.
We generally ride as a single group, unless we have 12 or more riders when we would split into 2 groups (assuming we have enough ride leaders to accommodate this)
Riders must ride maximum two abreast – not four! – and on the left hand side of the road – safety first!
Riders must have someone they can phone in case of emergencies and mechanical failure – it is not the responsibility of the leaders to fix a bike – but they will help if they can.
