Active – Rose Farm Cafe
Date(s) - 24/11/2019
8:30 am - 1:30 pm
The Mulberry Tree
A nice rolling route around Delamere, around 47 miles long with just over 2000 ft of ascent. We start up to Hatton and then meander through Whitley, Frandley and Little Leigh before a wizz up to Acton and on to Hatchmere, then down the Rollercoaster and along some ups and downs through Kelsall to the cafe stop in Utkington (25 miles). This is a winter variant avoiding the off-road section
After the break it’s on through Cotebrook, Whitegate, Hartford and Comberbach before a blast up the Arley drag.
You can view details of the route here: Rose Farm Cafe Winter
The Active ride is paced between 14-16mph. We typically ride at around 15 mph average and we would like to ask riders to be respectful of this for your own safety and the safety of the group. Suitable for road bikes only.
We meet at the Mulberry Tree, Stockton Heath, WA4 2AF. Please arrive by 08:20 for a prompt 08:30 start. Bikes MUST be in good working order and you MUST have a helmet. You need to carry a spare inner tube and/or puncture repair kit and when necessary you should also have lights. You should also bring enough to drink (minimum one full bottle) and snacks/gels etc appropriate for the length of the ride.
- Please keep pavements clear at meeting points, be respectful of pedestrians.
- We generally ride as a single group, unless we have 12 or more riders when we would split into 2 groups (assuming we have enough ride leaders to accommodate this)
- Riders must ride maximum two abreast – not four! – and on the left hand side of the road – safety first!
- Riders must have someone they can phone in case of emergencies and mechanical failure – it is not the responsibility of the leaders to fix a bike – but they will help if they can.
New riders are always more than welcome and can enjoy 3 free taster rides with us before joining our club – please bring a guest registration form with you on your first ride.
