This route, designed to look like an elephants ears on a map, gets going with a climb Delph Lane before heading across to skirt Great Budworth and head up to High Legh and Heatley to the cafe in Dunham at about half distance.  After that we head through Bowdon, Ashley and Knutford before skirting GB again and heading for the Arley Drag.

It’s 45.6 miles and has 1,600 ft of ascent.

The Active ride is paced between 14-16 mph covering approximately 40-50 miles. We typically ride at around 15mph average and we would like to ask riders to be respectful of this for your own safety and the safety of the group. Suitable for road bikes only.

You can view details of the route here: Stables Restaurant Dunham Massey

We meet at the Mulberry Tree, Stockton Heath, WA4 2AF and leave at 8:30AM prompt.
Bikes MUST be in good working order and you MUST have a helmet.  You need to carry a spare inner tube or puncture repair kit and when necessary you should also have lights.

General Rules:
– Please keep pavements clear at meeting points, be respectful of pedestrians.
– Riders must ride maximum two abreast – not four! – and on the left hand side of the road – safety first!
– We generally ride as a single group, unless we have 12 or more riders when we would split into 2 groups (assuming we have enough ride leaders to accommodate this)
– Riders must have someone they can phone in case of emergencies and mechanical failure – it is not the responsibility of the leaders to fix a bike – but they will help if they can.
