PLEASE NOTE 10.15AM START:

A ride out to see the race pass through Mobberley and again at the finish on Deansgate in the centre of Manchester.  Stage details including route and timings can be found here: https://www.tourofbritain.co.uk/stages/stage-one/

Details of our route can be found at the link below. Please note:

  1. There is likely to be a fair bit of standing around as we wait for the race to arrive and the road re-open after they pass. We will aim to be in place at least 45mins before the race is due to arrive. Rolling road closures are used so hopefully any wait after they have passed will not be too long.
  2. Coffee stop is in Tatton Park.
  3. For those pushed for time or who do not fancy the ride into Manchester there are options to head home at:
    1. Junction of Peacock Lane Lane/West Lane
    2. Junction of West Lane/Beechtree Lane
    3. Broomedge Lights
    4. Junction of Mill Lane  /Birch Brook Road (Green Dragon, Lymm)

Total ride will be around 65miles and 2,000ft. More importantly it will be a long day departing the Mul at 10.15am and back in Stockton Heath around 5pm for those heading into Manchester.

We typically ride at around 14-16mph average and we would like to ask riders to be respectful of this for your own safety and the safety of the group.

You can view details of the route here: ACTIVE:ToB 2023 Stage 1 – Start/Finish

We meet at the Mulberry Tree, Stockton Heath, WA4 2AF at 08.20am and leave at 8:30AM prompt.

Bikes MUST be in good working order and you MUST have a helmet.  You need to carry a spare inner tube or puncture repair kit and when necessary you should also have lights.

General Rules:
– Please keep pavements clear at meeting points, be respectful of pedestrians.
– Riders must ride maximum two abreast – not four! – and on the left hand side of the road – safety first!
– We generally ride as a single group, unless we have 12 or more riders when we would split into 2 groups (assuming we have enough ride leaders to accommodate this)
– Riders must have someone they can phone in case of emergencies and mechanical failure – it is not the responsibility of the leaders to fix a bike – but they will help if they can.
