A more attractive route than it sounds!
Out via Comberbach and then Barnton, we head for Whitegate Village and take a left before passing the Salt Works and following the course of the River Weaver. We cut through Winsford avoiding main roads/junctions and head out toward Tattenhall before turning back toward Cotebrook and on to Delamere Station (or the Forest Centre) for our Café stop which comes after 30miles. It’s then downhill back to Action Bridge and Marsh Lane before dropping down into Walton and home.
It’s just under 48miles with circa 1,800ft of ascent. ACTIVE: Delamere via Winsford
We meet at the Mulberry Tree, Stockton Heath, WA4 2AF at 08.20am and leave at 8:30AM prompt.
Bikes MUST be in good working order and you MUST have a helmet. You need to carry a spare inner tube or puncture repair kit and when necessary you should also have lights.
General Rules:
– Please keep pavements clear at meeting points, be respectful of pedestrians.
– Riders must ride maximum two abreast – not four! – and on the left hand side of the road – safety first!
– We generally ride as a single group, unless we have 12 or more riders when we would split into 2 groups (assuming we have enough ride leaders to accommodate this)
– Riders must have someone they can phone in case of emergencies and mechanical failure – it is not the responsibility of the leaders to fix a bike – but they will help if they can.
