Our Coffee Ride is a good place to start if you are new to cycling in a group, re-building fitness or returning from a break.
This ride is the gateway to our three-tier calendared road rides or something members looking for a continued connection, can enjoy on its own.
Paced at around 11-14 mph for 35 miles with a coffee stop halfway round, this ride maintains the pace of the slowest rider and allows plenty of opportunity for shelter or re-grouping.
Occurring every other Saturday, the ride departs the Mulberry Tree in Stockton Heath at 08:30.
Riders joining this event should have a road or road paced gravel/commuter bike, be able to ride at the indicated pace and be familiar with basic road riding skills.
Riders should carry a puncture repair kit or spare tubes and have good lights where appropriate.
All riders must wear a helmet.
If you have any questions then please don't hesitate to ask via our Contact Us form with more details available in our Club Guidelines documents.
Spond and Ride with GPS are the club’s preferred route planning and ride scheduling tools.
We use these two cloud-based services to notify members of our forthcoming ride calendar and publish the route selected by our ride leaders.
Club membership is required to Login to our Spond site from which members can see up to three months’ advanced calendaring, chat about the event, download the specific route and acknowledge intention to participate.
Wild Bikes uses the route planning site Ride with GPS to plot and store our comprehensive route library.
Ride routes are freely downloadable from the Ride with GPS website, shared as links within the Spond service or distributed via person-to-person messaging services as required.
A no cost, personal RWGPS account, is needed for opening a route and pushing it to a cycle computer.
Should you join our club we recommend you create a RWGPS account with invitation to Spond to follow.
